Happy Candy Spider

CATEGORY

My two girls are too cute to spook. In the place of a spooky Halloween, I’m seeking a light and happy mood this season. These colorful happy candy spiders are a fun and simple way to add color to Halloween. Somehow I already had all the necessary supplies on hand for this little project.

Make leg holes

Use a small sharp tool, like a thumb tack, to make additional holes in the plastic for the pipe cleaner legs. I used a thumb tack to create the hole and a Cricut weeding tool to make the hole larger. Please be careful not to stab your finger.

Feed the pipe cleaners through the holes. Be sure to feed the pipe cleaner through two holes. *NOTE: For shorter legs, cut one pipe cleaner in half.

Give your spider a personality

Use a cutting machine, like a Cricut, to cut out circles and a mouth from permanent black matte vinyl. Also, add googly eyes with glue dots, hot glue or your preferred adhesive.

Lastly, but most importantly, add some treats to your happy candy spider to make your trick-or-treaters smile.
